Principal who fired teacher in same-sex marriage resigns

Image
The principal of a Catholic school on the Main Line who sparked outrage after reportedly firing a teacher because she is in a same-sex marriage resigned on Friday, according to reports. Nell Stetser, five-year principal of Waldron Mercy Academy , announced her resignation via email on Friday citing a personal decision to leave her post, Philly Voice reported . Stetser raised public ire after she fired Margie Winters, director of religious education , in July 2015 for being a lesbian. Winters said she told the school about her relationship when she was hired eight months prior. According to 6ABC , a parent complained to the school upon learning about Winters’ relationship. Kimberly M. Baxter, chair of the school's Board of Trustees , sent out an email on Friday directly after Stetser’s was sent writing that Stetser had informed the board of her plan to resign on Wednesday. Baxter called Stetser a "true woman of Mercy" who has "led our school with great integrity,

Study Destroys: Born Gay Myth

Image
The groundbreaking study released a few weeks ago by the independent journal The New Atlantis that completely undercuts the foundation of the LGBT agenda , which has sought to convince people that gays and lesbians are "born that way." The report also explodes the gender ideology movement, showing the falsehood of claims that people can be "trapped in the wrong body" or that gender is somehow different from biological sex and can be changed based on someone's feelings and "identity." LGBT extremists are in panic mode because they fully realize that if the truth of human sexuality comes to be known and understood by the American people , their political movement will be damaged. They will have a much harder time pushing their ideology on children in the public schools, and it will be much more difficult to convince judges to impose their agenda on the American people. The LGBT lobby and their allies in the media are hoping that this critical

Australia: Tasmania tussles over free speech debate - homosexual marriage

Image
No sooner than the Tasmanian government tabled its planned changes to the state's anti-discrimination laws, came calls for the proposal to be scrapped . Amid much controversy, the Liberal administration on Tuesday in parliament put forward an amendment Bill, insisting free speech is a fundamental right . Attorney-General Vanessa Goodwin highlighted that the changes do not allow for hate speech but would enable church groups the right to convey their views on social issues such as same-sex marriage, without the fear of being reported to the anti-discrimination commissioner. "It is everyone's right to be able to genuinely participate in public debate and discussion, while ensuring that there are appropriate protections in place to stop people going too far," the minister said. But the argument was dismissed by her Labor opposition counterpart Lara Giddings who said the government is refusing to listen to community concerns about the change in law. "The

Catholic high school faces backlash for not admitting ‘transgender’ girl as a boy

Image
Fourteen-year-old female student Madelyn Catrambone wants two things: to go to a Christian (Catholic) school and to be a boy. Camden Catholic High School told her she can't have it both ways. After talking at length with Madelyn’s parents, Principal Heather Crisci concluded that fidelity to the school's Catholic beliefs include not treating a girl as if she were a boy. Catholic diocesan spokesman Michael Walsh   clarified   that Camden Catholic High has not refused to admit Madelyn, but it cannot admit Madelyn as a boy because that would "contradict Catholic teaching on gender identity." "As a Catholic school , our principal mission is to form students in the faith and we must always be true to the teachings of that Faith, even — indeed especially — when those teachings are challenged by the secular world," Walsh stated, explaining that Catholicism and the Pope hold that biological sex and gender may be "distinguished but not se

Sacramento diocese allows Catholic parish to show transgender activist film

Image
A Catholic parish recently screened a film spotlighting “gender identity,” the presentation of which its diocese says did not controvert Church teaching. The LGBT and Adult Faith Formation ministries of Sacramento’s St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church hosted  Call Me Malcolm  on June 22. The film was billed by the parish as a “down-to-earth, non-threatening and wholesome film” about a “transgendered man in his first year of United Church of Christ seminary.” The 90-minute documentary was written by a United Church of Christ (UCC) minister and produced in 2005 by the UCC. It follows Miriam, now “Malcolm,” a UCC seminary student who had undergone “sex reassignment” surgery and travels around meeting with other “transgender” individuals. “ Call Me Malcolm   is an amazing story of the human spirit and God's spirit, and the liberating struggle to realize and express with confidence the marvelous gift of one's truest sense of self,” the UCC’s information says of the f

Under pressure, Catholic school pulls policy requiring students to identify by natural sex

Image
The Rhode Island Catholic prep school that   faced social media backlash   for establishing a guideline against admitting transgender students has eliminated the policy. Mount Saint Charles Academy (MSC) in Woonsocket was the subject of criticism after the prohibition on enrolling students with gender dysphoria was discovered last week. The 2015-2016 edition of the school handbook had stated the school was “unable to make accommodations for transgender students. Therefore, MSC does not accept transgender students nor is MSC able to continue to enroll students who identify as transgender.” That link on the school website has been replaced with a PDF file identified as the 2016-2017   handbook , which has no reference to transgender students. The change was carried out by the Mount Saint Charles Board,   according   to golocalprov.com. LifeSiteNews inquired with Mount Saint Charles President Herve Richer for comment on the removal of the policy, but had not heard ba

Student: Gay-straight alliances are NOT a safe place for me

Image
I am a Christian kid and I wrote this reflection when I was in grade 10 a couple years ago. With everything that is going on,  I have to speak up . But first, here is what  Buzzfeed  has to say about the new “ Gender Policy ” that has been released in Alberta : The end goal of all this? To make sure everyone feels safe, welcome, and valued at school.” Let me get this through your head:   I DO NOT FEEL SAFE. This idea that Gay Straight Alliances make a safe space for everyone, is false.  Here is what YOU need to know about this movement, because it’s fruits have made even Catholic schools a petrifying and socially isolating place for me – and many others like me who are to petrified to speak up. Some Key Points: a) I am shamed by others because I uphold that it is a biological reality that a male and a female can have a baby together, and that because of that,  not all “marriages” are equal . They teach this in biology class, but if I connect it to faith, I am

Showdown: Alberta’s Catholic trustees unite behind bishops against gvmt ‘transgender’ mandate

Image
The association that represents all Catholic school trustees in Alberta has fired back against the New Democrat government’s new guidelines for forming mandatory transgender policies in all schools, including Catholic ones, stating that it’s the bishops, not the government, that provides “moral and theological leadership” to Catholic schools . In a statement issued earlier this week that comes as a blow to NDP Education Minister David Eggen , the Alberta Catholic School Trustees’ Association (ACSTA) stated that it “reaffirms the responsibility and the role of the Alberta Catholic Bishops to provide moral and theological leadership to the Catholic community including Catholic education communities .” It added that while it “reaffirms its commitment to work with Alberta Education” it at the same time “regrets Alberta Education's lack of consultation during the development of the Guidelines for Best Practices resource material.” Last week the NDP issued “best practices” guidel

Joe Biden: ‘There’s homophobes still left – most of them are running for president’

Image
Official portrait of Vice President of the United States . (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Vice President Joe Biden equated gender ideology with civil rights in a recent speech, at the same time calling marriage supporters homophobic. Gays and lesbians should not fear "those shrill voices" working to oppose homosexual "marriage," Biden said, because Americans "have moved so far beyond them and their appeals to prejudice and fear and homophobia." The potential Democrat presidential contender also took the occasion to attack the character of candidates from across the political aisle, stating, "There's homophobes still left – most of them are running for president." Biden used his remarks before the annual dinner for the homosexual activist group the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) to advance his support for allowing those suffering from gender dysphoria to serve openly in the military. "No longer is there any question transgende
