Immigration Minister: Canada will ‘seriously’ consider refugee claims by Russian homosexuals

Image
SURREY, British Columbia,  - Canada's newly appointed immigration minister said that Russia is wrong in restricting homosexual propaganda aimed at youth and indicated that refugee claims by Russian homosexuals will be given serious consideration by the Conservative government. Speaking at a Canadian citizenship ceremony in Surrey, B.C. on August 12, Citizenship and Immigration Minister Chris Alexander said the Conservative government of Stephen Harper has made its position on the Russian laws against homosexual proselytizing known and that Russian refugee claims “related to this particular issue will of course be looked at very seriously by our very generous system.”  Citizenship and Immigration Minister Chris Alexander “This is a rights issue and Canadian values… require us to speak up when those rights are violated in gross ways,” Alexander said according to a  Global News report . “We are going to speak out about Russia’s inappropriate actions in this area until

Desmond Tutu says he would rather go to hell than to ‘homophobic heaven’

CAPE TOWN, South Africa , - Speaking at a press event in Cape Town during the launch of a UN campaign promoting homosexual "rights," retired Anglican archbishop Desmond Tutu said he would prefer to go to hell than to worship a "homophobic" God or go to "homophobic heaven." "I would refuse to go to a homophobic heaven. No, I would say sorry, I mean I would much rather go to the other place," Tutu said at the launch of the UN's "Free and Equal" campaign.  Archbishop Desmond Tutu "I would not worship a God who is homophobic and that is how deeply I feel about this, " he said.  Tutu was joined at the "Free and Equal" press event by UN Human Rights High Commissioner Navi Pillay and Justice Edwin Cameron of the South African Constitutional Court .  There they announced the launch of the year-long project, which the  UN's website  describes as a “global public education campaign to promote greater

Students face ‘consequences’ for defying pro-homosexual ‘code of conduct’ pure tyranny

Image
In a bid to become Canada ’s most LGBTQ-influenced school system, Manitoba ’s NDP Ministry of Education has announced development of a new “provincial code of conduct” — added on top of its proposed anti-bullying legislation — that critics say will effectively silence any student voice dissenting from the gay agenda. "What this means for gay students is when they are bullied, there will be very clear consequences," Manitoba Education Minister Nancy Allan told Xtra. "Everybody in the school will know what the consequences are.” “Bullying of any student for any reason is categorically wrong,” said Jack Fonseca, spokesman for Campaign Life Coalition , to LifeSiteNews.com. “If this code was sincerely about anti-bullying, we’d applaud it. However, the code’s singular preoccupation with homosexuality broadcasts its true intent, which is to provide a weapon with which gay-activists can smear and silence bible-believing students, teachers, and parents.” Fonseca said that only

That way lies tyranny: A Canadian warning to every country about redefining marriage

Image
It’s been said that history is a vast early warning system. If so, Christians in America should heed a somber warning from Canada based on our country’s documented experience after redefining marriage.  The U.S. Supreme Court ruling that recently struck down the Defense of Marriage Act less than 2 weeks ago has paved the way for the redefinition of marriage in your country. The direct consequence of homosexual 'marriage' in Canada has been the loss of free speech, parental rights, the persecution of Christians , and systemic discrimination in the workplace.  Neither people of faith, nor Republican Party leaders should believe the lie that legalizing same-sex marriage “won’t affect the daily lives of heterosexuals”.   It has in Canada. It will there too. Campaign Life Coalition has documented in chronologic order, the progression of religious persecution over the past decade in a  report  titled “ Anti-Christian Persecution & Oppression in Canada: The high cost

After granting foreign immoral same-sex ‘marriage,’ Canadian Senate now approves gay divorce bill

Image
Legislation tabled by the Conservative government last year to allow foreign homosexual couples to divorce after taking advantage of the country’s liberal same-sex “marriage” law has sailed through the Senate. It had previously escaped a word of debate in the House of Commons . C-32  will amend the Civil Marriage Act so that the “marriages” of foreign same-sex couples who travel to Canada for the ceremony will be considered valid in Canada, “even if one or both of the non-residents do not, at the time of the marriage, have the capacity to enter into it under the law of their respective state of domicile.” Rob Nicholson The bill allows a “new divorce process” to be established that “allows a Canadian court to grant a divorce to non-resident spouses who reside in a state where a divorce cannot be granted to them because that state does not recognize the validity of their marriage.” Gwen Landolt, national vice-president of REAL Women Canada, told LifeSiteNews that the amen

Canada's transgender confusion

OTTAWA, Ontario , June 12, 2013 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - Bill C-279, the Canadian transgender bill, sailed through the Senate Committee on Human Rights on Monday, despite  testimony  during the meeting from the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal that transgendered people are already protected on the grounds of “sex and disability”. Joanne Brownrigg, a lobbyist for Campaign Life Coalition who attended the meeting, told LifeSiteNews.com that in the committee’s “unbridled enthusiasm to pass the bill and appear like heroes they were required to suspend all reason and rationality.”  NDP LGBTT Critic Randall Garrison , who introduced the bill “So little of what was said rested on legal arguments and the actual good that this law would do,” she said.  A number of groups supporting the bill, including the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) , argued to the committee that the bill would “make a very clear statement about the invisibility of transgender people”.  Noa Mendelsohn Aviv, Dire

Canadian Finance Minister Jim Flaherty (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) OTTAWA, March 20, 2013 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – Canada’s House of Commons voted 149 to 137 on Wednesday evening to pass an NDP-backed bill that would add “ gender identity ” to the Canadian Human Rights Act . The bill now heads to the Senate. The vote was largely on party lines, with the Conservatives opposing and the NDP, Liberals, Bloc, and Green parties supporting it. But, notably, was only able to pass with the support of 17 Conservative members, including cabinet ministers such as Jim Flaherty , John Baird, James Moore, and Lisa Raitt . A previous version of the bill, which would have also added “gender expression” to the act, had passed the House in 2011 but died in the Senate when the 2011 federal election was called. The bill has been controversial, with critics arguing that the bill would effectively abolish the distinction between male and female under Canadian law . Some have also dubbed it the “b
