Embarrassed Savage will debate NOM

Image
Dan Savage speaking at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) It looks like Dan Savage is taking the National Organization for Marriage (NOM) President Brian Brown up on his offer for a Bible debate -- and the outspoken lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender ( LGBT ) rights advocate has picked an unusual setting, one in which personalizes himself and is on his turf and his rules. Nothing has changed for Savage. It is always his way and his perspective.  "So, what I’d like to do is invite you to dinner," Savage reveals in a new podcast. "Bring the wife. My husband will be there. I will hire a video crew and we will video sort of an after dinner debate."  Savage, who infamously launched a campaign to redefine former GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum 's last name into a neologism involving anal sex, then continued: "You have to acknowledge my humanity by accepting my hospitality, and I have to acknowledge yours b

Landslide victory in North Carolina proves gay ‘marriage’ not inevitable say marriage supporters

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA , May 9, 2012, ( LifeSiteNews.com ) –  The movement to protect marriage as a union of one man and one woman marched forward yesterday as an emphatic majority of North Carolina voters approved a constitutional amendment forbidding activist judges from redefining the family. Amendment One, the Defense of Marriage Act , passed on Tuesday by 61 percent to 39 percent. On his daily podcast Wednesday morning, Dr. Albert Mohler referred to the vote as a  “landslide.” Peter LaBarbera , president of the family values group  Americans for Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH)  told LifeSiteNews.com the vote’s impact is “huge.” Bill Clinton took a stand against Amendment One. “The thrust of the message from the other side is that the homosexual issue is over. How dare you still disagree us?” LaBarbera said. “Now we’ve got 61 percent of the people in a lopsided campaign with” enormous “media bias and all the advantages that the gay side had, and we won.” “The debate is n

Confidential tax documents of pro-marriage group released: NOM points finger at Obama admin.

The National Organization for Marriage (NOM) is calling for an investigation of the Obama Administration , a liberal news outlet, and a gay rights group, all of whom NOM says may have violated federal law through their involvement in releasing the organization’s confidential tax information to the public. NOM’s 2008 1099 tax form, which contains the names and addresses of NOM donors, was published late last month in a Huffington Post article that accuses presidential candidate Mitt Romney of funding the prominent pro-traditional marriage group “under the radar.” Romney had sent a $10,000 check to the organization during the battle over California’s Proposition 8 , the ballot initiative which constitutionally defined marriage as a union between one man and one woman in the state. Brian Brown of the National Organization for Marriage The Huffington Post article calls the donation “secretive,” because it was made through a chapter of Romney’s Free and Strong America PAC in Alabama, a

Homosexuals seek to make SIN SACRED

What is a "sacred value"? I got to thinking about that after  this interview  with the  Los Angeles Times  on the changing message of  advocates  of  gay marriage : The message "used to be one that focused on rights, parity in benefits," said Fred Sainz, vice president of communications and marketing for the  Human Rights Campaign , a national  gay  rights group based in  Washington, D.C. Since about 2008, Sainz said, same-sex marriage activists have begun "talking about love, honor and commitment." Then the  LA Times  quotes my response: "Our messaging hasn't changed because it's based on truth and reality," said  Brian S. Brown , president of the  National Organization for Marriage . "It's not that complicated. You don't need sophisticated talking points to present a common-sense truth." What gay-marriage advocates are now doing is trying to make gay marriage into a "sacred value," something every American i
