(Photo credit: Wikipedia ) When history looks back on the 2012-2013 legislative year, I believe it will be remembered as the year Americans realized the same-sex marriage movement for what it truly is:  a bullying behemoth that puts the very foundations of our democracy at stake. Right now, living through it all, it's been a somewhat discouraging year for believers in true marriage. We've seen a few narrow losses in some close, hard-fought battles. In some ways, the deck was stacked against us in these states — all of which were deep blue and controlled by Democrats , most with super majorities. But the "low hanging fruit" for the other side is gone. Now we have the chance to make sure the wave of same-sex marriage momentum crests and rolls back. The media claim we don’t exist. OK, that’s a slight exaggeration. But after all, we’re Millennials , born during the Reagan administration . We’re supposed to be of the generation that is embracing same-sex marriage in droves. Instead, we’re standing strong on upholding the truth about what marriage is. Are we willing to endure cultural scorn for holding to a position as supposedly outmoded as natural marriage? Politicos and pundits offer hyperbolic missives on how conservatives are losing young Americans, who are likely to be more libertarian on social issues. A  Fox News   headline reads : “ North Carolina   voters  take up amendment banning  gay marriage .” So what’s the problem? Framing. Today’s vote in North Carolina is not about banning anything. Nothing will be made illegal as a result. In all fifty states across the nation two people of the same sex can live together, have their religious community bless their union, and have their workplace offer them various joint benefits — if the religious communities and workplaces in question so desire. Many liberal houses of worship and progressive businesses have voluntarily decided to do so. There’s nothing illegal about this. There’s no ban on it. What’s at issue is whether the government will recognize such unions as marriages — and then force every citizen and business to do so as well. This isn’t th
