Banning reparative therapy for gay minors is ‘a form of child abuse’: former homosexual (Video)

uality  ,  Illinois  ,  Reparative Therapy  ,  Video SPRINGFIELD, IL , February 27, 2015 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – Not only would Illinois legislators not be protecting children by enacting a ban on “conversion therapy,” they would be engaging in “a form of child abuse,” according to a man who left the homosexual lifestyle three decades ago. Stephen Black of the  Restored Hope Network  told the  Illinois Family Institute  that reparative therapy helps minors who struggle with unwanted same-sex attraction . While opponents have said that psychological counseling to reduce sexual attraction violates truth in advertising laws and borders on torture, Black described it as little more than “pastoral care for people who want to come out of homosexuality.” The  Conversion Therapy Prohibition Act  (H.B. 217),  introduced  by Democratic State Rep. Kelly Cassidy , would ban such therapy for minors, subjecting medical professionals to discipline by the licensing or medical review boar

What is sexual orientation?

English: Gender symbols, sexual orientation: heterosexuality, homosexuality, bisexuality. Česky: (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) What does it mean to have a sexual orientation , and what is a homosexual orientation ?  According to the American Psychological Association . . . "Sexual orientation refers to an enduring pattern of emotional, romantic, and/or sexual attractions to men, women, or both sexes. Sexual orientation also refers to a person’s sense of identity based on those attractions, related behaviors, and membership in a community of others who share those attractions . . . sexual orientation is closely tied to the intimate personal relationships that meet deeply felt needs for love, attachment, and intimacy. In addition to sexual behaviors, these bonds include nonsexual physical affection between partners, shared goals and values, mutual support, and ongoing commitment. Therefore, sexual orientation is not merely a personal characteristic within an individual. Rath

Gallup poll: Fewer believe people are ‘born gay’

Image
WASHINGTON, D.C. , May 30, 2014 ( LifeSIteNews.com ) – The number of Americans who believe homosexuality is an inborn trait is on the decline, according to a new  Gallup poll . In 2013, 47 percent of Americans told the polling company they believed that homosexuals were “born gay .” In 2014, that number dropped to 42 percent. Meanwhile, 37 percent of Americans surveyed reported believing homosexuality is the result of “upbringing and environment,” up from 33 percent in 2013. “Though being gay as the result of genetics or other factors before birth has become a considerably more mainstream belief and is now mentioned by a plurality of Americans, it is still one held by slightly less than half of the U.S. population,” the pollsters explained in a statement. “This disagreement seems likely to continue as long as the scientific community remains agnostic about the question.” Gallup noted that the American Psychological Association has refused to take a position on the origi

Rochester radio hosts fired after suggesting transsexuals are mentally ill

Image
ROCHESTER, NY ,  – Two Rochester-area radio hosts have been fired after a twelve-minute segment in which they criticized the city for agreeing to fund sex-change procedures for its employees and dependents, and implied that would-be-transsexuals are mentally ill. Radio hosts Kimberly and Beck of “The Morning Buzz” talk show were fired early Thursday for comments they made during their Wednesday morning show.  During the course of a segment covering city health coverage for self-identified “ transgender ” people, the duo slammed the city’s decision as a waste of taxpayer dollars and asked why costly elective sex-change surgeries and treatments should be paid for by the city, but not breast enhancement surgery or Botox for women who are similarly unhappy with the way they look. Kimberly and Beck Kimberly, however, approved of the provision granting psychological counseling to so-called “transgender” individuals, saying that anyone wanting elective surgery to pass themselves

Prof. Regnerus says Michigan judge showed bias in ruling allowing same-sex ‘marriage’

Image
DETROIT, MI , March 31, 2014  – Dr. Mark Regnerus , whose conclusions about same-sex "marriage" were dismissed in last week's ruling on the matter by Judge Bernard Friedman , is fighting back. "I frankly don't understand why the judge elected to pass on a discussion of some of the very real concerns our research raised," Regnerus said. Regnerus says Friedman "chose to privilege certain scholars as well as research that leaned on self-selected samples." Friedman ruled that same-sex "marriage" should be legal in Michigan , overturning the state's ban on those relationships. Gov. Rick Snyder has said  he will not validate about 300 same-sex "marriages"  until the state's attorney general has exhausted his legal defense of the state.  Friedman's decision was temporarily "stayed" by the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals , pending the state's appeal. Nominated by President Ronald Reagan in 1988 ,

Gov. Chris Christie: banning parents from helping their children overcome the destructive pull of sinful homosexuality:

Image
Governor of New Jersey at a town hall in Hillsborough, NJ 3/2/11 (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) New Jersey   Gov. Chris Christie  succumbed to homosexual activist propaganda and myths in  signing into law  a bill that bans professional counselors in the Garden State “from attempting to change a minor’s sexual orientation.” LaBarbera made the following points regarding Republican Christie siding with the “Big Gay Government” agenda by banning parents from helping their children overcome the destructive pull of homosexuality: 1) Christie cited the pro-“gay” American Psychological Association  in claiming that efforts to change sexual orientation “can pose critical health risks” to children. But he strangely did not mention the existence of successful, happy  former  homosexuals. Nor did he acknowledge the widely-available data pointing to the myriad health risks associated with homosexual behavior itself – such as the  rising HIV risk  among “young men who have sex with men.”

Is same sex attraction a sin?

Image
Author: Danny Burk. In contemporary discussions of homosexuality, it is commonplace to distinguish homosexual  orientation  from homosexual  behavior . Usually, the distinction goes something like this: Orientation refers to one’s inner disposition while behavior addresses one’s moral choices . John and Paul Feinberg state it this way: Homosexuality as a sexual orientation means that a person has a strong and abiding preference for members of the same sex and desires to act on that sexual preference… Homosexual behavior refers to specific sex acts between members of the same sex. [1] Some Christian ethicists take this observation a step further and argue that we must make a moral distinction between orientation and behavior. On this view, homosexual behavior is a choice and thus morally blameworthy . Homosexual orientation is not a choice and thus not morally blameworthy.  This point of view has become routine even among some who identify themselves as evangelical. A co
