Will Justice Anthony decision on homosexual marriage have unintended consequences?

Image
English: Justice Anthony Kennedy, 2009. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) The U.S. Supreme Court issued its monumental ruling on same-sex “marriage” on Friday, declaring that all 50 states must and are “required ” to legalize “gay marriage” under the U.S. Constitution . “The court now holds that same-sex couples may exercise the fundamental right to marry. No longer may this liberty be denied to them,” Justice Anthony Kennedy wrote in the 5-4 decision, with the majority being the liberal justices on the bench: Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg , Justice Elena Kagan , Justice Sonia Sotomayor, Justice Steven Breyer and the aforementioned Justice Kennedy. While the court recognized the longstanding definition of marriage as being “a union between two persons of the opposite sex,” the five justices opined that “the history of marriage is one of both continuity and change.” “That institution—even as confined to opposite-sex relations—has evolved over time,” Kennedy said. “No union is mo

Did Justice Kennedy make up legal argument to promotoe homosexual marriage?

English: Anthony Kennedy, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Everything has changed and nothing has changed. The Supreme Court’s decision today is a central assault upon marriage as the conjugal union of a man and a woman and in a 5-4 decision the nation’s highest court has now imposed its mandate redefining marriage on all 50 states. As Chief Justice Roberts said in his dissent, “The majority’s decision is an act of will, not a legal judgment.” The majority’s argument, expressed by Justice Kennedy , is that the right of same-sex couples to marry is based in individual autonomy as related to sexuality, in marriage as a fundamental right , in marriage as a privileged context for raising children, and in upholding marriage as central to civilization. But at every one of these points, the majority had to reinvent marriage in order to make its case. The Court has not merely ordered that same-sex couples be allowed to marry — it

Alabama Supreme Court rebuffs federal court in ‘historic’ ruling: forbids marriage licenses for gay couples

MONTGOMERY, AL , March 5, 2015 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) -- Alabama’s high court has upheld the state’s definition of marriage and ordered a halt to marriage licenses for homosexual couples in the state, while also criticizing its federal counterpart for striking down DOMA. The Alabama Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that “nothing in the United States Constitution alters or overrides” state judges’ duty to administer state law. The all-Republican court also  said  the federal district court had employed a “judicial sleight of hand” in “conferring fundamental-right status upon a concept of marriage divorced from its traditional understanding.” “Throughout the entirety of its history, Alabama has chosen the traditional definition of marriage,” the ruling said. “That fact does not change simply because the new definition of marriage has gained ascendancy in certain quarters of the country, even if one of those quarters is the federal judiciary.” The ruling is significant in making Alaba

Homosexuality Cut and Paste Info

Español: Intercambio de anillos entre los novios (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Agenda, the homosexuals want acceptability, recognition, and approval. Homosexuals want others in society to think like them (and behave like them?).  They are working hard to change moral, social, and political opinion to be more in line with what they want.  They are not content to be what they want to be.  They want others to accept them.  They want others' opinions to change and conform to their ideology and behavior.  What gives them the right to try to change society into what they want it to be? Animal kingdom:  Homosexuality occurs in the animal world; therefore, it is natural. Saying that homosexuality is natural because it occurs in the animal kingdom does not mean it is morally correct.  Animals also eat each other alive, devour offspring, etc.  Should we imitate those things as well because the animals do it?  Of course not. From an evolutionary perspective how does homosexuality

What are homosexuals supposed to do if they can't change?

Image
Español: Intercambio de anillos entre los novios (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) What should a homosexual do if he becomes a Christian and his same-sex desires do not go away? Can he force himself to change? Or, is he supposed to live in frustration and not getting married for the rest of his life? First of all, before I attempt to answer these questions, I want to express my sympathy for the dilemma in which repentant homosexuals can find themselves. Whether or not homosexuality is an orientation by birth, the practice is still condemned by Scripture; and like other sins such as adultery , fornication, and lying, it needs to be avoided. Second, there's no magic pill, no quick phrase, no psychological attitude adjustment that just makes homosexual tendencies go away or become tolerable. The only thing that can produce such a radical change is the work of  God . It has happened before with people where they have become Christians and by God's grace have been able to f

The battle over words

Image
English: Photographs of the Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Intellectual and moral battles occur using words.  Therefore, it is necessary to define the terms and also realize that words have denotation and connotation.  Denotation is the literal meaning of a word and connotation is the hidden, emotional meaning.  For example, the denotation of the word "mother" means a female who has borne offspring.  The connotation of "mother" is a warm, caring parent who always loves you.  Connotations can be positive and negative.  The word "mother" has a positive feeling to it.  The word "bigot" has a negative feel (connation).  When liberals use vocabulary, they tend to use connotations that are favorable for them and negative for their opponents.  For example, you will hear about " homosexual rights " because the word "rights" has a positive connotation.  We support people's rights, don't we

YouTubers tell kid to kill himself for his view on homosexuality

English: This protester was on his own and letting Minnesota state Senators know his position on gay marriage. This is freedom of speech in action. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Isn't it interesting how the politically correct in America proudly wave the banner of tolerance, yet hypocritically show extreme intolerance and hatred to anyone who contradicts their politically correct view?  Such is the case with the 12-year-old YouTube boy who expressed his belief that  gay marriage is wrong .  If you want to view the two minute, 11 second video that has as of 4/13/09 received 222,777 views, go to (the link is no longer available). The young boy asks if gay marriage is right, and then said it is wrong.  He said God invented male and female to get married and have children, and if you have a gay marriage then "that is kinda wrong."  He specifically said gays and lesbians were not bad people, but he did urge them to get married.  (He also informs us that he is very interes
